The second East-West Philanthropists Summit took place at in January 2015 with a focus on China & US Foundation Leaders. Co-sponsored by philanthropists Cao Dewang and Marc Nathanson, this Summit attracted more than 50 participants representing 12 foundations from the US and 12 from China. A major theme of the Summit was the feeling of certainty that the future of philanthropy in China and the US depends on both the government and the private sector, and on their ability to work together.
Philanthropists discussed joint projects, shared visions and strategies, and identified the need to cultivate qualified staff and leadership as well as to build solid relations with their government, business, and NGO partners.
