Working in partnership with CGPI, and with the generous support of the Beijing Qiaonyu Foundation, the third East-West Philanthropists Summit was held in Hawaii in January 2016. The primary goal of this third Summit was to work with CGPI to create a permanent platform for China and the rest of the world’s governments, corporations, and philanthropic leaders to collaborate on a wide range of critical issues. Discussions were focused on global philanthropy’s mission in the 21st century, as well as specific topics such as public-private partnerships, social finance innovation, and future action strategies. The participants recognized the importance of working collaboratively to maximize their impact on the underlying causes of today’s most urgent challenges and expressed their enthusiasm about continuing these philanthropy focused summits.
