East-West Chinese Philanthropy Roundtable

On December 16 to 18, 2019, Partnering with Hong Kong Compassion Award, Phoenix TV and China Global Philanthropy Institute, East-West Philanthropy Forum held its 1st Chinese Philanthropy Roundtable in Hong Kong sponsored by Huamin Charity Foundation and ended with the 14th Evening Gala for Compassion Award recorded and broadcasted to the world by Phoenix TV. About eighty distinguished Chinese philanthropists and their executives from Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and overseas attended the closed Roundtable headed by Mr. Tung Chee Hwa (First Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region) and Ms. Elsie Leung (First Secretary for Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region). During the Roundtable, innovative ideas such as Co-Sharing were discussed while united actions in rural revitalization, improvement on urban social services poverty, alleviation through education and family legacy through philanthropy were proposed. At the Gala, Mr. Wang Zhenyao (Founding President of EWPF) received the 2019 Compassion Award along with other five awardees and Mr. Niu Ben (Co-Chair of International Philanthropic Innovation Circle at EWPF) delivered a keynote speech as one of the Honorary Guests.
