Philanthropists Tour around the World: He Qiaonyu and Nature Conservation

The Nature Conservancy: EWPF and CGPI representatives joined the Qiaonyu Foundation delegation for a luncheon meeting hosted by TNC President Mark Tercek at his home in Georgetown. The discussion focused on potential long-term partnerships between the organizations to advance environmental protection and other conservation initiatives.

Conservation International: The group then met with Conservation International executives at their headquarters in Arlington, VA. CI President Peter Seligmann hosted a dinner for the delegation and CI leadership that evening.

Panthera: Representatives from EWPF, CGPI, IUCN, and the Qiaonyu Foundation joined Tom Kaplan, on his yacht in NY Harbor for a discussion of future collaboration on conservation training programs, the protection of snow leopards and other big cats, and additional wildlife protection efforts in China and beyond.

United Nations: EWPF, CGPI and Qiaonyu Foundation representatives participated in a “Climate Partnerships for the Global South” event at UN Headquarters titled “Philanthropy to Boost South-South Cooperation on Climate Change and Sustainable Development.” The UN recognized the Qiaonyu Foundation for its pledge of $1.5 million to the UN over three years for climate change related activities. Representatives from EWPF and CGPI also met to discuss UN participation in the 2018 East-West Sustainability Summit II in Ningxia and other opportunities for collaboration.
